Research Officer at the South Asia Office of Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) North-South, a global research program led by University of Bern and University of Zurich, Safal Ghimire was one of the recipients of Martin Chautari Media Research Fellowship-2009 for his research on 'Media and Livelihood in Rural Nepal' and Swiss National Science Foundation Fellowship-2008 under 'Globalization and Livelihoods'. Several books are published so far to his credit on the issues of conflict and security. It includes the recently co-edited volume 'The Remake of a State: Post-conflict Challenges and State-building in Nepal'(South Asia RCO, 2010) and co-authored volume 'Ignored or Ill-represented: The Grievance of Terai-Madhes Conflict in Nepal' (Adroit Publishers, New Delhi, forthcoming). In addition, he has authored various chapters in the books on conflict transformation and contributed articles to peer-reviewed journals, magazines and daily newspapers.
